Dubai: The State of Qatar participated in the 27th Meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Arab States Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held in the United Arab Emirates as part of the events and activities organized by the CCG pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Chairman of the General Customs Authority (GAC) HE Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Jamal and several department heads of the GAC represented Qatar at the meeting.

The meeting discussed the memorandum of the General Secretariat on the need to fulfill the requirements of the customs union in the implementation of the decisions of the leaders of the GCC and the importance of activating the role of the authority of the customs union to perform all the tasks entrusted to it in order to improve the achievement of the desired integration. in the economic fields. The meeting also included a discussion on the customs role of inter-ports, the importance of agreeing on non-customs restrictions for GCC states, and other topics and reports from technical committees on the agenda.

Participating delegations took a guided tour of the visual presentations and data presented at the General Secretariat pavilion at Expo Dubai, which features historical information and highlights the close relationship between GCC states in all aspects.
